Who is Joanne?

For those of you who have wondered who Joanne is, (a poem written by her, “For A Moment”, is in The Fame booklet, and a poem written for her by Gaga, is also in the Fame booklet, and a tweet wishing her a Happy Birthday), here is Gaga’s explanation from a Youtube interview. I will post the link soon.

Q: “What motivated you to get to where your at?”
A: “My father’s sister died when she was 19 years old; and her name was Joanne. And I’ve always felt a very strong connection to her, and for whatever reason, I believe that I have two hearts, and in someway, my life in this music is meant to finish up the rest of the life that she did not get to live. So, for me, my motivation is to fulfill the destiny of Joanne, and of my family. And actually, the tour is called the Fame Ball to the public, but in the underground, with me and the entire Haus and the crew of people that do the show, we refer to it as Joanne.”
